Rural Clinics Community Mental Health Centers were created through a grant application for funding from the Federal Community Mental Health Center Grants established by the Kennedy Administration. In 1978, Rural Clinics Community Mental Health Centers were granted eight years of funding to provide a comprehensive education and referral services to all ages within the 15 rural counties to work in close coordination with other health and social services.
Recent state revenue shortfalls resulted in the consolidation of offices at Dayton and Fernley. Dayton residents seeking services should follow the links below to Carson or Silver Springs. Fernley residents seeking services should follow the links below to Fallon or Silver Springs. Rural Clinics Community Mental Health Centers continue to provide a comprehensive array of services to the severely mentally ill (SMI adult) and severely emotionally disturbed (SED children) populations. Outpatient counseling (individual, family and group), Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Case Management, Medication Clinic, Residential Supports, and Mental Health Court are provided at our Satellite and Sub-Satellite Clinics. Emergency services are provided during business hours. We are in the process of adding co-occurring substance abuse programs to our services. Services are available for all persons who qualify regardless of ability to pay. Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, fee and sliding fee scale are accepted. Rural Clinics Community Mental Health Center continues efforts towards application to and attainment of accreditation through CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities).
